WASHINGTON – The Office of the United States Trade Representative said it is issuing a two-week extension on the time that certain goods shipped from China will have to enter the U.S. before facing a 25% tariff. It intends to publish a notice in the Federal Register this week revealing the specific covered products.
The USTR said that covered products exported from China to the United States before May 10 will remain subject to the additional 10% tariff if they enter the U.S. before June 15. The original deadline for goods to enter the U.S. before the full 25% tariff went into effect was June. 1.
“This limited extension will further account for customs enforcement factors and transit time between China and the United States by sea,” the USTR said.
HOMESUN SOFT CLOSE will publish any further relevant information as it is publicized in the Federal Register this week.
